Verticon ® is a pioneer in the Material Handling Industry by introducing and patenting one of the first Vertical Conveyor products back in 1980. We are in business to this day providing high-value, robust, industrial capital equipment.
We combine our expert service and vertical conveyor product line with those of other trusted material handling partners to provide customers with TURNKEY manufacturing, storage, distribution and fulfillment facilities.
Our design concept judiciously applies the “Vertical Concept” making maximum use of the facilities overhead space for processing, storage, and materials movement. Total savings of up to 40% can be realized while achieving high facilities output. We can also provide fully automated material handling systems.
Verticon ® had one of the earliest Vertical Reciprocating Conveyor (VRC) patents dating back to 1980.
When Ron Kennedy toured Skinner Macaroni Company in Omaha, NE as a then I/O Psychologist, he saw a spaghetti factory that was literally a spaghetti factory of dizzying conveyors running all over their production and packaging floor taking up valuable floor space.
His idea was to raise the conveyors overhead and conduct the non-value-added product movement up there, freeing up more floor space to add packaging lines. But how would they raise their boxes from their floor level to the ceiling hung conveyors?
Verticon ® Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors were invented and installed to do just that. More packaging lines were installed in the new open space soon making Skinner Macaroni the most profitable macaroni factory in the world. Shortly thereafter they were purchased by Hershey Pasta.
And the company and trade name Verticon ® was born.
